'Jellyfish Tentacles' by Buttervault

A super colourful and psychedelic artwork originally created for a one of a series of themed parties we used to run in Brisbane with the Open Records crew called "Melt".

We had heaps of fun creating crazy decor and theming them. This theme in particular was "Underwater" and we had made all sorts of ocean themed decor for it so i thought it was only fitting to use two of the most amazing creatures in the deep blue! The Octopus & The Jellyfish! Super fun to draw and they've both always amazed me with their colourful sprites and alien like blobbing.

This was the first proper artwork i'd created in years, with only a few finished pieces under my belt at this stage. Crazy i know... I had been designing heaps of things (mostly for parties or Dj's) & doing crazy posters and stuff for many years before this but never actually applied myself to do just art or have the thought that it could end up AS art. It's good to see that these works can be used for something after the parties because i put a lot of heart & soul into them!

Starting these parties with my friends was definitely an important precursor for my creativity. My journey after taking a proper dip into the art world has been quite the ride, so i'm glad i dived in!
